Who It’s For: Teachers who work for a public school that is not meeting academic proficiency levels (overall F or D graded school by the public education department) and is located in a high-poverty area. They must sign up for a service obligation of at least two years to qualify.
How to Apply: You can access the application directly on the program’s website, but only around when the application cycle is active. Applications open on March 1 and close May 1.
What Loans Qualify: Only federal student loans are eligible for this program.
How Much?: The award amount varies depending on the school’s need for the designated high-risk teacher position.
Anything Else I Should Know?: This program is not available to people who are using their teaching service to qualify for a federal program, such as Teacher Loan Forgiveness.
