Who It’s For: Teachers who work in North Dakota and agree to work in a teacher shortage area.
How to Apply: There should be an application available on this page, but only during the active application period.
What Loans Qualify: Most federal loans should qualify (whether FFELP, Direct, or Perkins). Dakota Education Alternative Loans (DEAL) obtained through the Bank of North Dakota can also qualify.
How Much?: Depending on the level of need and how remote the school district in question is, up to $6,500 per year, up to a maximum of four years.
Anything Else I Should Know?: No more than two teachers per year in a school district may receive loan forgiveness under this program.
