Who It’s For: Primary care physicians in the state of Oklahoma who agree to work in a specific rural and underserved area for at least two years.
How to Apply: You can visit the Application and Contract section of the program’s website to find everything you need.
What Loans Qualify: Your existing loan type doesn’t really matter, since this program isn’t directly paying them off. Instead, program participants receive a loan up-front when they begin their service, which gets automatically forgiven as they complete their service obligation. The funds from that loan can be used to pay off other expenses, such as your student loans.
How Much?: Up to $40,000.
Anything Else I Should Know?: The program website has a list of non-qualifying communities that may not qualify for residency location.
