West Virginia Health Sciences Service Program

Who It’s For: Students in the final year of a doctoral or graduate education in several health professions fields (including but not limited to primary care physicians, nurses, physician assistants, dentists, pharmacists, and physical therapists) who commit to at least two years of service at an eligible practice site.

What Loans Qualify: No specific loan types are listed in the publicly available information for this program. Most similar programs allow you to put the payment toward any loans (including federal, state, and private) that were used to pay for the relevant law degree and were taken out from a qualified lending institution.

How Much?: Up to $40,000 for the initial 2-year commitment. You may also extend your service up to two years and earn an additional $25,000 per year, bringing the possible maximum to $90,000.
