Who It’s For: Health care providers working in designated health professional shortage areas can apply to receive funding to repay qualifying educational loans. Participants must see underserved patients at an approved clinical site for the entire service obligation.

What Loans Qualify: Any federal or private loans that were taken out for education and expenses directly related to the discipline in which you’re currently practicing.
How Much?: Varies depending on whether you work full- or part-time, and what specific medical or dental profession you work in. The highest amount is $105,000 for full-time physicians and dentists.
Anything Else I Should Know?: Requires a three year service commitment. There is a separate state dental loan repayment program that dental employees may want to look into as well. Find out more here.
