Maryland Dent-Care Loan Assistance Repayment Program (MDC-LARP)

Who It’s For: Practicing dentists employed full-time providing care to at least 30% Maryland Medical Assistance Program (MMAP) recipients in Maryland.

How to Apply: You can find the 2023 application (PDF) on the Maryland Department of Health website.

What Loans Qualify: Any educational debt should be eligible (including federal, state, and private debt) as long as it is held by a legitimate lending institution.

How Much?: Up to $23,740 per year, for a maximum of three years.

Anything Else I Should Know?:  To qualify, you must sign a promissory note stating that you will remain employed full-time as a dentist and maintain at least 30 percent of your patient population as MMAP recipients. Recipients must keep records of all patients treated (MMAP and non-MMAP) and provide monthly written reports to the Office of Oral Health.
