Who It’s For: Maryland residents in public service jobs, such as state government, local government, or employment by a nonprofit agency that provides aid to low income or underserved residents.
How to Apply: You can apply through the Maryland College Aid Processing System (MDCAPS). You can find out how to create an account here.
What Loans Qualify: All student loans that are not in default qualify for inclusion.
How Much?: The amount varies depending on the amount of your debt. For example, if you have over $75,000 in educational debt, you may qualify for up to $10,000 per year, or a maximum of $30,000 over three years.
Anything Else I Should Know?: Be sure to read the eligibility requirements on the program’s website, as you may not qualify if your gross income is too high.
