Who It’s For: Physicians in New York State who have completed their residency within the past five years and are willing to commit to working in a designated work shortage area for at least two years.

What Loans Qualify: Most loans should qualify, as long as they are from a legitimate lending agency in your name and were issued to pay for your undergraduate or medical education.
How Much?: Pending the appropriation of State funds during the yearly session of the New York State legislature, at least 80 awards up to $10,000 per year for two years are offered. Award amount is based on undergraduate and medical school student loan amounts, loan interest expense, and income.
