New York State Nursing Faculty Forgiveness Incentive Program

Who It’s For: Registered nurses who are New York State residents, have a master’s degree or doctorate, and work as a nursing faculty member or adjunct clinical faculty providing classroom or clinical instruction at a nursing school in New York State.

How to Apply: The Nursing Faculty Loan Forgiveness (NFLF) Incentive Program Application is no longer available. Potential applicants can register on the website to be notified of any program updates.

What Loans Qualify: New York State loans, federal loans, or private loans made by commercial entities subject to governmental examination. Parent PLUS loans and Perkins loans do not qualify.

How Much?: Up to $8,000 per year, for a maximum of up to $40,000 for five years of eligible service.

Anything Else I Should Know?: Your loans will only be eligible for this program if they were used to fund a nursing degree, and they have to have been disbursed on or after January 1, 2001. Applicants must have resided in New York for at least 12 months before applying for this program.
