Who It’s For: Licensed registered nurses in the state of Rhode Island who work a minimum of 20 hours per week with a responsibility of direct patient care.
How to Apply: You can find application information in the “How to Apply” section of the program’s website.
What Loans Qualify: Only state loans held by the Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) can qualify for this program. This includes RISLA Parent Loan taken out on the behalf of the student.
How Much?: There is no set dollar amount for this program. Instead, it pays down the interest on your RISLA loans for 48 months, ensuring that all your own payments during that time go directly to the principal balance.
Anything Else I Should Know?: Any individual who was already a licensed registered nurse at the time they first took out a RISLA loan will not qualify for this program.
